McKenzie began dancing at the age of 5 years old. Although she took a break to attempt other sports, she came back to dancing at the age of 10 and began dancing at MelRoe’s School of Dance at the age of 13. McKenzie has trained in tumbling, jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary, and pointe. McKenzie competed on both the MelRoe’s Dynamite Company team as well as the MelRoe’s TNT Tumbling Troupe during her years at MelRoe’s. McKenzie used her tumbling training from MelRoe’s as a cheerleader at Liberty High School. While pursuing her degree in Kinesiology at the University of Arkansas, McKenzie continued her dance training taking ballet classes, technique classes and workshops in the area. Mackenzie has trained with some of the best teachers in the industry such as Joe Tremaine, Kari LaGrande, To y Bellissimo, Laurie Johnson, Tiffany Maher, Derrick Schrader and more.
After graduating and now back in Kansas City, McKenzie is extremely excited to join the MelRoe’s family again now as a staff member and share her passion with the kids!
