With over 14 years of experience, Edith joined the MelRoe’s family at age six where she specialized in various styles including tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, tumbling, modern and contemporary. Throughout her time with us, Edith has trained with professional instructors and choreographers like Mia Micheals, Sonya Tayeh, Dave Scott and countless more. She danced competitively at the MelRoe’s, and after receiving the “Dancer of the Year” award in 2009, she owes a majority of her success and humility to Mel and Roe.
Edith continued her dance experience in college at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she majored in Communication Studies. During her experience on a college dance team, Edith was named “All American” dancer at the annual National Dance Alliance (NDA) College Dance Team camp her senior year. As a senior captain, Edith’s biggest accomplishment was leading her team to their first NDA national championship title.
From student, assistant to teacher, Edith is beyond grateful for her MelRoe’s family. She takes after the studio motto – grow in dance, inspire in life. We're grateful to have an instructor like Edith who exceeds expectations and truly cares for our students. At Melroe’s Edith co-leads the modern and contemporary program. Her pieces have gained regional recognition earning 1st overalls, judges awards, and top 5 category awards. She is thrilled to be back as a staff member for the fifth year.
